Our apps generate legal complaint letters that not only set out all the relevant facts, but also cites specific statutes and regulations that may have been breached. All through an easy to navigate guided interview process.

How our apps work

  • Stage 1. Qualify Complainant

    We begin our app by asking questions to qualify a complainant to even file a complaint, based on statutory and other requirements. 


    Helps Complainants: Creates clarity in the process, as they know immediately if they qualify to file a complaint. 


    Helps Complainee:  Reduces workload on the back-end, as it filters our unqualified complainants from the process before anyone else needs to get involved.

  • Stage 2. Plain Language Questions

    This is what people have described as the "magic of our apps." We ask plain language, easy to follow questions, and based on what the complainant checks off our system compares and triggers statues, regulations, and case law.


    Helps Complainants: Instant confirmation if there are potential grounds for a legal complaint without the need to pay for a lawyer.


    Helps Complainee:  Reduces costs on the back-end, as it does the legal analysis before the complaint is submitted, saving on legal fees.

  • Stage 3. Final Legal Complaint Letter

    Our app then generates a legal, professional looking letter, that looks like a lawyer wrote it. The letter lists out all the relevant facts and cites exact statutes and regulations that may have been breached (Section 5(1)(d) of the Alberta Police Regulations, for example). With one click, our final legal letter can then be easily sent to multiple parties, depending on the type of complaint.


    Helps Complainants: Reduces the need to hire a lawyer to write a professional letter and improves the odds of marginalized and vulnerable populations filing a credible complaint. The letter also provides information and next steps for complainants, as an additional source of information.


    Helps Complainee:  Organizes all relevant facts and legal information, in an easy to read legal letter, saving time needing to interview complainants to understand the nature and full facts of a complaint.

Guiding Principles for All Our Apps

1. Plain language questions to generate a formal, statute-cited legal complaint letter with legal information to educate complainants, so complainants with any literacy level can submit a credible complaint.


2. Minimizing complainant retraumatization and feeling overwhelmed during the complaint process, leading to an easier process and better complaint.


3. Banking-level security and privacy protection, including minimizing sensitive information needed, not storing any complaint information locally or in the cloud, and multi-level encryptions throughout.

4. A streamlined, user-friendly interface, with clear instructions and check-ins and the ability to easily send the final complaint letter with only one click to multiple parties.


5. Ability to translate into other languages, for full end-to-end user coverage without intervention from a 3rd party needed.

6. Enough relevant information from complainants to increase efficiency, and reducing legal costs by automating legal analysis for free before complaint submitted.
